Inter-line sponsors the Torbay Business Awards

The cherished local firm prides itself on its community role

Interline sponsors the Torbay Business Awards

Renowned Torbay construction company Inter-Line has sponsored the Outstanding Apprentice of the Year award in Torbay Weekly’s 2024 Naturally Inspiring Business Awards.  Established in 1976, Inter-Line is more than just a business; it’s a cherished family legacy. Co-founded by Stan and Beryl Moreing, the journey began as drylining contractors working out of rented stables. The vision quickly evolved, leading to a multi-million pound company that prides itself on serving the local community.

Remarkable Local Journey

From those modest beginnings, Inter-Line embarked on a journey of growth and expansion. With seven branches across Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, Totnes, Exeter, Teignmouth and Dawlish, there are almost 100 friendly and knowledgable staff  eager to help with any queries on building projects.

In addition, their own in-house mechanical workshop manages an impressive fleet of 14 vehicles which enables reliable deliveries through the tiny local Devon lanes.

New Website

Inter-Line also launched an upgraded website which includes thousands of products and a Trade accounts section, so if you want to set up an account for your renovations and building works, do get in touch and take a look – www.inter-line.co.uk.

But what makes Inter-Line so special?

As Neil Robinson, Inter-Line Director said; “Customer and community service is at the heart of what we do. We make sure that every customer gets great service from start to finish: no matter how big or small the job is – and that enables us to help the wider community. “

As it is a local family-run business, they are firmly grounded in serving the community - supporting local events, charities and communities.

Inter-Line have donated over £250,000 to charities including RNLI, Rowcroft Hospice, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and many more great causes.

They also support many local sports teams, including rugby, cricket and football as well as supporting events like the Brixham’s Pirate Festival, Paignton’s Children’s Week and of course, the Naturally Inspiring Business Awards, celebrating success in the Bay.

Inter-Line also generously donate materials and tools to community organisations like Play Torbay, Orchard Forest School, Lifeworks and Friends of Brixham’s Battery Gardens.

Foxhole Community Centre

Recently Inter-Line supported Foxhole Community Centre after discovering their disability ramp and steps needed replacing and, together with partners Mannok and Glendinning, they contributed materials worth £900.

Foxhole CC’s Chair, Trevor Shepherd-Burridge said; “The Centre is the heart of our community. We have 15 bookings every week for over 200 people and the abrupt closure was devastating for us. A MASSIVE shout out must to Inter-Line Building Supplies.  Without their contribution we would have struggled massively to afford to do it. Our builders told them about the situation and they jumped straight into action offering help.”

"Local businesses supporting locals was how they put it. We were overwhelmed by their generosity. We are so lucky to have such kind people, caring for local organisations. We couldn’t be anymore thankful for their support!”

Listen to the Customers

Local tradesman, Callum Hamill, who has been a regular Interline customer for years said; “If you need help with your building supplies, then you should definitely give Interline a call. They have over 40 years of experience in the trade, so they know what they're doing!  They have a great reputation for providing a high quality service at an affordable price and of course, reliable deliveries.”

Award winning…

Inter-Line have also won 15 awards for their work on both a national and local basis, including being voted Overall Business of the Year at the South Devon Business Excellence Awards in 2011 and National Independent Merchant of the Year, 2012.

As Neil said; “Inter-Line are delighted to be sponsoring the Apprenticeship Category in this year’s awards, so please encourage everyone to apply for these awards and help celebrate the great successes in the Bay”
