The lineup for the 2025 English Riviera Airshow has been announced.

The annual aviation event in Torbay will take place from Friday, May 30, to Sunday, June 1, 2025.

This year’s show will feature displays from the RAF Red Arrows and the RAF Typhoon, with a surprise evening performance yet to be revealed. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Attendees are encouraged to “make a weekend of it,” with festivities planned across the three days, including a lineup of live music on Friday 30.

Cllr Jackie Thomas, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Culture & Events and Corporate Services at Torbay Council, said: “This is the news that we have all been waiting for. We are absolutely thrilled that we have secured three of the best RAF display teams for both the Saturday and Sunday of the event.

“Each year of the airshow we aim to make it bigger and better than the year before. We couldn’t do this though without the generous support of our event partner, the English Riviera BID Company, our sponsors and supporters – thank you.”

The English Riviera will serve as the backdrop for these aerial displays, showcasing the skill of the Royal Air Force’s finest teams.

The RAF Red Arrows will return with their full nine-ship team, performing synchronised manoeuvres over the bay on Saturday and Sunday.

After last year’s success, the RAF Typhoon—a highly agile multi-role combat aircraft—will soar over Torbay on both days. Organisers describe it as a “marvel of modern engineering,” known for its deafening roar, bright engine glow, and impressive agility.

The Royal Air Force, which has defended Britain’s skies for over 100 years, faced its greatest test during the 1940 Battle of Britain. This year, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will feature the Dakota, Spitfire, and Hurricane. Performing on both days, this year’s display is particularly significant as it coincides with the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe, a poignant reminder of our history.

Beyond the aerial performances, the event promises a better ground experience, featuring a military village, a funfair, a STEM marquee, a craft fair, live performances, and a variety of local South West traders and exhibitors.

Carolyn Custerson, Chief Executive Officer, English Riviera BID Company, said: “The English Riviera BID Company are delighted to be major sponsors again this year with the English Riviera as the ultimate UK destination for an airshow. The event keeps growing and attracting tens of thousands of people to the area every year.

“What makes the English Riviera such a special place to host this event is the natural amphitheatre, surrounded by dozens of viewing points. Whether you want to be in the heart of the action in the event village, sat on a clifftop, or enjoying one of our waterfront hospitality destinations, the event is open and accessible to everyone.”

The airshow is a collaborative effort supported by Torbay Council, the English Riviera BID Company, local businesses, and aviation enthusiasts.

Sponsors include Bigwave Marketing, Torbay Pharmaceuticals, Barnes Aerospace, Great Western Railway, Eden Vauxhall, Hoburne Holidays, Wesley Offshore, Park Dean Resort, Torbay Gin, and S&M Leisure.
