The UK's first ever steam-powered Train of Lights is ready and raring to go for Christmas 2024.

This multi-award-winning festive illumination experience was captured by photographer Chris Slack during its first practice run yesterday evening.

The vintage train's carriages are decorated with interior and exterior lights, and the journey takes a circular route from Queen's Park Station, Paignton, passing Churston, Dartmouth, and Kingswear.

The light show begins upon reaching Churston, shortly after which the train passes through the 450-metre Greenway Tunnel, leading to an enchanted forest transformed by a spectacular array of lights and both new and classic feature displays.

The practice footage has already sparked excitement on Facebook, with multiple residents sharing that they have already booked their tickets and could hear the steam train's engine from their homes.

More information about ticket prices and train schedules can be found on the Christmas Train of Lights webpage.
