Totnes will be one of several UK stops for singer-songwriter Doe Paoro, who is returning for a run of shows with her band from Costa Rica this autumn

US singer-songwriter Doe Paoro is set to perform in Totnes as part of her first UK tour in several years.

The singer will play at St Mary’s Church in Totnes as part of a series of UK dates in September and October.

Paoro, who is also a sound healer, will be joined by her band from Costa Rica for the tour.

The UK dates begin at The Tabernacle in London on 25 September, before continuing to Shrewsbury, Manchester, Totnes, Glastonbury, and concluding in Portsmouth on 4 October.

The Totnes performance is one of a small number of UK shows being held in what organisers describe as intimate venues.

Paoro has toured internationally and has also worked in sound baths and ceremonial music settings.

Her latest album, Living Through Collapse, is her first full-length release since 2018’s Soft Power.

The album features a range of collaborators and producers, including Jonathan Wilson, Chris Sholar, Lagartijeando and Liam Fletcher. It was partly recorded in Costa Rica with local musicians.

Paoro’s music has previously explored elements of soul, R&B, electronic music and folk.

The singer announced her return to the UK alongside dates in Europe, saying: “It’s time! We are coming back to the UK.”

She also confirmed that musician Ian Jamieson will support the band on the UK dates.

The Totnes show will take place at St Mary’s Church in September.
