Big win for Brixham RFC
Fishermen in the hunt for a title push
Brixham RFC remain in the leading group of the Regional 1 Tribute SW Division after a powerful 39-14 victory over Matson at Astley Park.
Tommy Drennan gave the Fishermen a perfect start with a try converted by Joel Ashworth and the lead was extended to 14 points when Andre Simonetti also touched down. Matson fought back to make the score 17-7 at half-time.
After the break, however, another score from Simonetti gave Brixham a healthy cushion and the win was secured by further tries from Ben Hogan and JP Simonetti.
Brixham Crusaders maintained their 100% record with a 9-77 demolition at lowly Plympton Victoria. The Crusader tries were scored by Will Kingsley, Josh Webber (5), Ricki Workman (3), Danny Brown, Ollie Stride (2) and Harvey Piper.
Paignton are level on points with leaders Plymstock Oaks in the Counties 1 Tribute Western West Division after powering their way to a 42-26 win over Kingsbridge.
Henry Hoare bagged a hat-trick of tries for the Cherries and there were further scores from Dewald Stoop, Jack Carlisle and Jordan Hodge, with Brad McKee adding the extras for Paignton.
Lucy Rowell scored twice alongside tries from Charlotte Massey, Kate Barlow, Torie Dooley and a penalty try, as Paignton Ladies progressed to the next round of the Papa Johns Community Cup with an excellent 15-36 win at Wiveliscombe. Paignton will travel to Winscombe Ladies in the next round on December 1.
Torquay Athletic have now scored an immense 478 points in just nine games as their lead at the top of the Counties 2 Tribute Devon Division remains a healthy five points following a 68-12 win over Plymouth Argaum.
Morgan Alcock scored an amazing five tries and there were further scores from Matt Butler (2), Jonny Brown, Mitch Eagling, Jamie Blatchford, Jack Akery and Josh Macklin.
