The Great Big Paddle 2024

The forecast is set fair for Torbay to host an epic world record attempt in The Great Big Paddle Parade 2024.

The ambitious attempt to have one thousand stand-up paddle boarders on parade will begin on Sunday morning, with launch times and locations listed below.

Hosted by Soak Lifestyle in collaboration with the RNLI, Above Water and Rowcroft, this is the third successive year of record-breaking attempts while making waves for water safety awareness.

With paddle distances ranging from 6km to 20km round trip, there's an option for paddlers of all fitness levels to join us on this extraordinary event. Elite paddlers will depart from Abbey Sands beach, while experienced and novice paddlers will set off from Goodrington Beach and Broadsands Beach respectively.

Locations & Launch Times:

Abbey Sands: 9.30am on the water - approx 10km each way | 5.5 hours.
Goodrington Beach: 11am on the water - approx 3.5km each way | 3.5 hours.
Broadsands Beach: 11:30am on the water - approx 3km each way | 2.5 hours.
