Arkell Jude-Boyd joins from QPR
Torquay United have added young defender Arkell Jude-Boyd on loan from Queens Park Rangers.
Jude-Boyd, 21, was inserted straight into the starting line-up for the midweek trip to Maidstone United and turned professional in 2022.
United boss Gary Johnson told the club website: “We appreciate QPR loaning us one of their young prospects.
“We’ve watched him a few times, and he’s a very quick, aggressive defender who can play right-back, or right wing-back. I think he’s already spoken to Duke [Stephen Duke-McKenna] and Armstrong [Sinclair Armstrong], and I’m pleased to say they’ve given us a good reference.
“At this moment in time, with two defenders going down recently – Fin Craske, and Ollie Tomlinson, who’s unfortunately got a groin strain from the game the other day – it was great that we could do something quickly to alleviate the problem of being short of defenders.”
