Jobseekers from across the Bay are invited to the Torbay Jobs Fair on Friday 10 October, with more than 50 employers and skills providers set to attend.
Organised by Torbay Council’s Economy Team in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, the free event runs 9am–midday in the Assembly Room at Torquay Town Hall. A Disability Confident quiet session, managed by Jobcentre Plus, will take place from 9.00–9.30am before doors open fully at 9.30am.
Hundreds of opportunities will be showcased across sectors including health and care, construction, customer service, hospitality and retail. Attendees can meet employers face-to-face, discuss current vacancies and make contacts for full-time, part-time, seasonal and temporary roles.
Jobcentre Plus advisers will offer CV and application support, while Torbay Council’s Economy Team will be on hand with business start-up and self-employment guidance.
Councillor Chris Lewis, Cabinet Member for Place Development and Economic Growth, and Deputy Leader of the Council, said “We’re delighted to be hosting the Torbay Jobs Fair once again this year and to have so many employers and skills providers lined up to showcase their opportunities.
It’s an excellent opportunity for local people to connect with local employers, explore different career pathways, and stay informed about the local job market. All are welcome, so no matter what your age or experience please do come along and find out more!”
Further information is available on the Invest in Torbay website. For enquiries, or to attend the 9.00–9.30am quiet time, contact Torbay Council Economic Development Officer Stuart Hardy at Stuart.Hardy@torbay.gov.uk
