Paignton announces Remembrance events to honour 2024 Armistice Day

The Royal British Legion Paignton Branch, in collaboration with Paignton Parish, has announced the schedule for its 2024 Remembrance events.

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, a morning church service will be held at Paignton Parish Church, starting at 10:15 a.m. Those wishing to participate should contact Father Neil Knox or the Paignton RBL.

Later in the day, a wreath-laying service will take place at Palace Avenue Gardens and the War Memorial. The service begins at 3:00 p.m., with wreaths laid by local dignitaries and organizations. Anyone wishing to lay a wreath is encouraged to contact the branch chairman. Road closures will be in effect from 2:30 p.m.

On Monday, November 11, 2024, Armistice Day will be marked with a service at Paignton War Memorial at 10:45 a.m., with a two-minute silence observed at 11:00 a.m.

The public is invited to attend these commemorations to honor those who have served.
