The family-run consultancy are relocating from their Fleet Street offices to the landmark former TSB Bank building in St Marychurch.

The company says beautiful Victorian building is the 'perfect new base for our growing team and expanding services'.

Established in 1943 by Maureen and Bernard Bettesworth, the firm has grown into one of the South West’s most respected property practices.

Maureen made history as the UK’s first female auctioneer and hotel agent, and her legacy continues through her grandsons, and current directors of the company Matt and Paul Bettesworth.

The decision to move is driven by evolving operational needs and the emergence of St Marychurch as a hub for professional services.

“This relocation represents a generational milestone for our business,” said Matt Bettesworth.

“We’ve been planning for some time to find a premises that reflects the quality of our brand.  This historic corner building is a perfect match.”

Paul Bettesworth added: “St Marychurch is thriving, and we’re excited to be part of that growth. The new office gives us the space and visibility to support our expanding team and new services, while staying connected to our Torbay roots.”

Bettesworths offers a comprehensive range of services, including commercial and residential sales, lettings, valuations, lease renewals, rent reviews, and dispute resolution.

In recent years, the firm has seen significant growth in its valuation services, catering to a diverse clientele from private individuals to large corporations.

The move, scheduled for late 2025, also coincides with the launch of Bettesworths’ new commercial property management division, further expanding their service offerings.

“Our new location provides the perfect platform to enhance our services and better serve our clients,” Paul added.

The new office is expected to open later this year, marking a major chapter in Bettesworths’ history — a ‘bold leap forward’ for the future of the strong and growing business and its exceptional workforce, in the ongoing commitment to excellence in the property market.
