An eagerly anticipated event in Torbay’s arts calendar is set to return to Torquay this spring.
The Torbay Guild of Artists will once again host its Art in the Barn exhibition in the Spanish Barn at Torre Abbey, running from March 15 to 30.
The exhibition will showcase works by guild members, including original paintings, prints, ceramics, glassware and artisan gift cards, all available for purchase.
A spokesperson for the event described it as “the perfect opportunity to welcome the new season amid Torbay’s vibrant creative scene”.
They added: “It promises to be a truly exciting event. We have some fabulous artists across a wide spectrum of expertise.
“There’s a thriving arts community in Torbay, and the guild is a wonderfully supportive organisation. We’re always welcoming new members, which brings fresh artwork to our exhibitions.
“People come from far and wide to view the exhibition, and feedback is really positive. There's also a new setup in the Spanish Barn, which makes it easier to travel around inside.”
Founded in 1967 by local artists, including members of the Royal Academy — home to Britain’s longest-established art school — the Torbay Guild of Artists now has over 80 members.
The guild is dedicated to fostering and promoting professional artwork in the region and is currently working alongside the Artisan Collective Gallery in Torquay to plan a Riviera Open Studios event.
The Art in the Barn exhibition is free to attend and will be open daily (except Mondays) from 10am to 4pm with an early closing time of 3pm on the final day.
Located in the beautiful grounds of the historic Torre Abbey, and with a café on sight, a visit to the Art in the Barn Exhibition is the perfect opportunity to have a day out with family and friends.
