A local man has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Paignton.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the incident, which took place on Southfield Avenue, Paignton, at around 7pm on Wednesday, February 5.

Officers were called to the scene after it was reported that a collision had taken place involving a pedal cycle and a van.

Sadly, the cyclist, a man in his 60s, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

A local man in his 70s has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at a collision. He remains in police custody at this time.

Anyone with any relevant information and dashcam footage that may assist the investigation is asked to contact police via their website or by calling 101, quoting log 772 of 5 February 2025.
