Torquay Girls' Grammar School is playing host to a VIP visitor.
Catherine Omanyo, MP and founder of Imprezza Academy in Kenya , is at the school on Thursday January 30 to give a special talk.
Imprezza Academy is the TGGS's partner school in the third most deprived area in Kenya.
It offers free education to students that can't afford to pay school fees.
Twenty years ago one of the school's former Head girls travelled to Kenya and spent time in the school. She was inspired by what she saw and upon her return to TGGS how the collective efforts of the school community could make a real impact upon the lives of the school children in Kenya.
Since then the grammar school has been supporting its Kenyan partners through fundraisers, events and its annual sponsored walk.
It has also managed to secure fundraising to organise some teacher visits to the school and for their Headteacher Catherine (who is now also an MP) to visit the Shiphay school.
