It's party time at Babbacombe Theatre.
It's party time at Babbacombe Theatre.
Partygoers are invited to join a five-star cast for a cocktail of side-splitting standup comedy, hilarious comedy routines, powerful vocal performances and mesmerising dance routines on a stage bursting with merriment, effervescent colours and effects with everyone dressed to kill in their best party attire at the Babbacombe Theatre’s event for 2025, Let’s Have A PARTY!
The life and soul of the party is also show host, Sir Norman Wisdom's Award for ‘Comedy Excellence winner' Steve Laister.
In previous years many of the audience members have reviewed shows and have said: "Steve Laister – he should be on the TV”. Steve will once again be doing what he does best, entertaining, as he continues to introduce new, never seen before, unique comedic material along with his dynamic vocals.
Party guests will expect a playlist that reaches across the decades with featured music including rock n roll classics originally performed by the King, Elvis, and seventies sensations, Showaddywaddy, Pop anthems that premiered from the noughties up to the twenties by Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Bruno Mars and Dua Lipa, a country hoedown favourite, that will get your toes tapping and Motown standards. More show stopping musical numbers for a good sing along are from Wicked, Barbie and a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Les Misérables.
There will be trend setter and celebrated entertainer Dean Winters, divine vocal diva, Lorna Amy Sullivan, rising star Aimee Evans, international party reveller Gaz Hocking, and not one but six vivacious award-winning dancers - Danze Chique.
Usually at a party, the children are to be seen and not heard, but not on this occasion, they are having the best days of their lives having the jolliest time hopping and a bopping - they are Kidz & Co. and there are five of them.
The skilful talents of the ever resourceful and critically acclaimed theatre owner Colin Matthews along with resident choreographer Lucy O’Neill and musical director Pete Leonard, together with stunning costumes ensure a cocktail with just the right mix, delivering a show that is elegant, timeless and tasteful with just enough of a kick to leave you feeling merry.
Let’s Have A PARTY opens on Tuesday February 18 at 8.15pm, with weekly dates up to and including Wednesday October 16, that’s a staggering 71 opportunities, when you include the matinee on Wednesday August 13 at 2.30pm.
