A nursing couple have bought a Torquay care home.

In a move that is said to have sparked excitement among residents and staff alike, Lorna House Care Home in Devons Road, Babbacombe has been sold to nurse couple Issac and Meghana Theophilos.

The couple, who already own the successful Aveland Court Care Home, are poised to bring their expertise and passion for quality care to Lorna House.

Theophilos, an experienced consultant in the care home sector and author of a best-selling book on quality improvement in the industry, is no stranger to turning around struggling facilities.

Their success in transforming Aveland Court Care Home from the brink of closure to a well-rated establishment within just three months in 2023 speaks volumes about their commitment and capability.

"All the residents and staff at Lorna House are excited about the change in ownership," said a spokesperson for the care home.

The new company overseeing Lorna House is a subsidiary of Bliss Care.

Lorna House Care Home caters to individuals over the age of 65 with physical disabilities and mild cognitive impairments. With the Theophilos' track record and Bliss Care's mission, residents can look forward to enhanced quality of care and support tailored to their needs.

Issac Theophilos has audited over 100 care homes, lending his expertise to support quality improvement initiatives across the sector. Now, with Lorna House under their stewardship, the couple is poised to bring their vision for exceptional care to fruition.
