Powderham Castle's festive treat

Christmas at the Castle is back with the special gift of a sign-language grotto.

Powderham Castle, a historic gem nestled in the heart of South Devon, is set to transport visitors to a winter wonderland with the return of its highly-anticipated Christmas at the Castle event, which this year sees the introduction of a BSL Christmas grotto.

As part of this magical celebration, Powderham Castle invites visitors to experience the historic grounds in a whole new light.

Running from now to December 31, visitors can purchase tickets for both the castle and grounds.

This expanded experience includes the opportunity to step inside Powderham Castle and discover its 12 Days of Christmas-themed activity trail, where children are invited to explore the castle and grounds, collecting stamps on their way.

Powderham Castle’s famous Christmas Light Trail is back for 2023, which sees a mile-long trail within the grounds illuminated with an abundance of lights and festive decorations,

Food and drink markets are available as well as live music on some evenings.

One of the standout features of Christmas at the Castle is a signing Santa at the BSL grotto.

Powderham Castle says it is committed to inclusivity and will be providing a unique experience where Santa communicates with deaf and hard-of-hearing children and adults using British Sign Language.

Regardless of their hearing abilities, every attendee can share in the joy of meeting Santa and creating cherished memories that they can treasure for a lifetime.
