Reggae meets risqué in Babbacombe’s double bill

Two back-to-back shows bring Bob Marley’s greatest hits and a night of vintage burlesque to Torquay this August

There’s something for everyone at Babbacombe Theatre this August – whether you’re into rhythm, retro, or a bit of both.

On Friday 29 August, Legend – The Music of Bob Marley returns to the stage in Torquay after drawing full houses in previous years. The two-hour show brings together a live band and cast performing Marley’s best-known tracks – including No Woman No Cry, Three Little Birds, One Love and Jammin’.

It’s a celebration of a global icon, but also a good excuse to sit back and let the music do the talking. Previous audiences have praised the energy and musicianship – and it’s easy to see why the show is back by demand.

Then on Saturday 30 August, it’s a very different affair as An Evening of Burlesque brings feathers, cabaret and vintage cheek to the same stage. Described as the UK’s longest-running burlesque tour, the show blends comedy, circus, dance and old-school glamour – with a few raised eyebrows guaranteed. Over-18s only.

Both performances start at 7.30pm. Tickets are available online at babbacombe-theatre.com or from the box office on 01803 328385.

Whether you’re swaying to reggae or soaking up sequins, it’s set to be a standout weekend on the Babbacombe stage.
