Young entrepreneur launches own business after Covid forces him out of work

Business is motoring for a young entrepreneur who started his own company during the pandemic.

Aaron Summers, 24, was determined to make it work after starting his vehicle valeting and detailing business, Finesse Detailing, last year.

Aaron, who works across Torbay and South Devon, said: "At the time, I thought it was going to be impossible to get it off the ground and that it would fail, but with the support of my parents I was determined to make this work.

"After leaving college as a fully qualified mechanic, I went to work in a classic car garage learning a vast amount of new skills and working on high-end cars and prestige classic cars during my time there.

"I had also done a valeting and detailing course as my boss saw something in me when I took my time cleaning the cars ready for customers to collect.

"Unfortunately, the business had to close and I had no job.

"I wanted to stay with cars but it was hard to get another job in a mechanic role so I tried sales instead."

After just one day in his new role, lockdown meant they had to close.

"I decided it was time to put my valeting and detailing skills to good use and start my own business.

"With my background and passion for cars, I aim to offer a high-end service but with competitive prices."
