Women's football: Plainmoor Ladies in first win of season

In the Western Division of the Joma Devon Women's Football League, Plainmoor Ladies recorded their first win of the season away against Teignmouth.

The home took a three-goal lead but Plainmoor fought back to win by five goals to four.

Sarah Batterton scored twice with team mates, Sam Ungi, Jasmin Norton and Anabelle Jonas getting the others.

Teigns replied with two from Amy Mitchell and one apiece from Ellie Hellyer and Helen Willis.

Torquay United made their journey to north Devon worthwhile with a three point haul from an 8-1 victory over Halwill.

A hat-trick by Harriet Bowring, two goals each from Amy Scandrett and Leanne Robbins and a single from Sian Goddard boosted their goal difference, but they are still just behind Activate who were on County Cup duty. They kept their shooting boots active with a 12-1 win over Bradninch.

Stacey Tomkins led the way with four goals, Amy Wise bagged a hat trick, Steph Warren scored two and Becky McMullin, Saskia Moore and Kirsty Jones added the others.

Western Division: Teignmouth 4-5 Plainmoor Ladies, Halwill FC 1-8 Torquay United.

County Cup: Activate 12-1 Bradninch.
