
Woman suffers serious injuries in crash between bicycle and car
A woman in her 40s has been taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after a crash in Torquay on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to Beechfield Avenue at 8:15am as witnesses reported a crash between a car and a bicycle.
The woman was first taken to Torbay Hospital, but later transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth to ‘receive further treatment.’
Devon and Cornwall Police closed the road for several hours while investigation work took place. Beechfield Avenue reopened around 2pm, six hours after the accident occurred.
Police investigating the serious accident are now asking witnesses to come forward with any information that may help them.
A spokesperson for the police said: “The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information or dashcam footage that could help the police with their enquiries.
