United ladies still on course for league and cup double

Torquay United's Ladies and Youth teams tackle key matches this weekend with their hopes of league and cup success in even better shape.

The Ladies, top of the SW Women's League Premier Division, travel to Sherborne Town (3rd) on Sunday after a 3-1 away win over Royal Wootton Bassett.

Goals by Ellie Bishop, Tracey Cross and Beth Everson gave them victory as they bid for a league and Devon Cup 'double' - they meet Exeter City in the April final.

Chris Todd's United Under-18 side went to top of the SW Counties Youth League without kicking a ball, enjoying a 'walkover' win at Paulton Rovers, while Bridgwater United lost 2-1 at home to third-placed Mangotsfield United.

The young Gulls are now a point ahead of Bridgwater, whom they meet at South Devon College on March 12, and this Saturday (10.30am) they take on Yeovil Town at SDC in the Gary Else League Cup Semi-Final.
