Torquay United have announced a raft of seven new signings, including two members of their treble-winning youth team, after the club’s first day of pre-season training.

United have signed Cardiff City midfielder Kieron Evans on loan, after he played six games in the Championship for the Bluebirds last season.

Gulls manager Gary Johnson has also welcomed right-back Dylan Crowe and attacking midfielder Brett McGavin from League One Ipswich Town.

Ryan Hanson has bolstered Torquay’s midfield options after spells with Hull City and Dover Athletic, where he was made captain at 21 last season.

Striker Aaron Jarvis, 24, comes to Plainmoor from new National League rivals Scunthorpe United, although he has also played for Luton Town and Boreham Wood.

The Gulls, who already have Academy graduates Olaf Koszela and Alex Moyse on their books, have handed first senior contracts to Welsh-born striker Lewis Brooks and midfielder Jack Winsor.
