Torquay United to play Truro City in final pre-season practice match

Torquay United have added a sixth and final practice match to their pre-season schedule - away to former Plainmoor tenants Truro City on Saturday week, July 30.

For some time the Gulls have been looking to fill the 'blank' fortnight that previously existed between their home game against Exeter City this Saturday (July 23) and the opening day of the National League season on August 6 against Oldham Athletic (H).

They've now done that with the trip to Cornwall - and in actual fact, with two games in just over 24 hours.

Before he sends out his squad against Southern League Premier side Truro, United manager Gary Johnson is also holding a full training game at Plainmoor on Friday, July 29 (11am), which will be open to all season-ticket holders.

The fans will also have a chance to meet the players after that run-out, which will be followed by the club's already-announced Community Fun Day outside Plainmoor's Family Stand (1pm).
