Newly-promoted Devon rivals Exeter City will be one of Torquay United's pre-season opponents before the start of the 2022-2023 campaign (writes Dave Thomas).
The Grecians, fresh from their automatic promotion to League One, have announced that Matt Taylor's squad will make the short trip to Plainmoor to take on Gary Johnson's Gulls, on either Friday evening, July 22, or Saturday afternoon, July 23.
The exact date has still to be confirmed.
It will almost certainly be City's last 'friendly', because the EFL season starts on July 30, a week before the National League begins (Aug 6).
Torquay are expected to release more pre-season details soon.
This season's National League Play-Offs have already thrown up a couple of surprises - and two away wins.
After Grimsby Town (6th) came from behind to beat Notts County (5th) 2-1 in extra-time at Meadow Lane on Monday, Chesterfield (7th) beat FC Halifax Town (4th) 2-1 at The Shay on Tuesday night.
Chesterfield - they finished ten points behind Halifax in the regular season - will be away to Solihull Moors in Sunday's second semi-final, with Grimsby going to runners-up Wrexham on Saturday (12.30pm).
