Torquay United have made their sixth senior signing of the summer - centre-back Ross Marshall from League Two club Stevenage.

Gulls manager Gary Johnson has agreed terms for 6ft 3in tall Marshall, 22, who has previously played for Ipswich Town, Maidstone United and on loan at National League rivals Barnet last season.

He made 27 appearances during his time at Stevenage, and one of his games for Barnet was in the 2-2 draw at Plainmoor in February.

"We're pleased that Ross has chosen us, because he had a couple of other clubs interested," said Johnson.

"We've brought him in as a centre-half, although he can play in three different positions.

"For someone of 22, he's had good experience and, importantly, in this league."

Norwich-born Marshall has been training with the Gulls for several days, and he joins former Ipswich teammates Brett McGavin and Dylan Crowe, who have also signed recently, at Plainmoor.
