Torbay businesses encouraged to enter Queen's Awards

Torbay Weekly

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are regarded as the highest official UK awards for British businesses and remains one of the many great legacies of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Recognised globally, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise signifies excellence and provides prestigious endorsement, with previous winners testifying that there are many immediate and long-term benefits, including recognising the achievements of the company, building confidence with trading partners and access to new markets and customers. Winning businesses are able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for five years.

Recently two Torbay based businesses received the prestigious Queen’s Award 2022.

  • Investment Casting Systems Ltd – a “World Class Toolmaker”, based in Paignton, was granted an award for their continued growth in turnover and exports over the last three years.
  • Spirent Communications, also based in Paignton, manufactures the world’s leading test solutions for Positioning, Navigation and Timing solutions and were recognised for their continued international trade success.

Recognising the accolade and endorsement that comes with being granted a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, TDA are hosting an event which offers local business leaders the opportunity to come along and learn more about the awards, including how and why businesses could be eligible and the benefits of applying and winning such an award.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise Information event is taking place on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 4-6pm at the Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC) in Paignton. Please visit the website to find out more and to register to attend the event.

Cllr Swithin Long, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Tourism and Housing for Torbay Council said: “We very much hope that many of our ambitious Torbay businesses can join us to learn more about the benefits of being awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and how to apply.
