Torbay athletes take on traffic-free Exeter Marathon

Torbay Weekly

Two athletes from Torbay AAC took on the challenge of the Exeter Marathon.

It was the first time that either Mary Schoeneburg or Iaen Sell had run the marathon distance.

The Exeter Marathon is organised by the Exeter City Football In The Community. The 26.2 miles are spread out on a flat, traffic-free course along the footpaths and cycle tracks around the River Exe and Exeter Canal.

The mild sunny morning was ideal for those out and about on the water and runners were able to join them enjoying the still and quiet location.

The course is ideal for those chasing a PB or novice runners looking to complete their first event.
Results: 116/189 Iaen Sell M60 4:12:57, 181/187 Mary Schoeneberg F55 5:17:07.
