Working in Torquay Museum’s archive is like exploring an Aladdin’s cave – you never know what you might find.

While staff were doing general maintenance last week, they came across a box of black and white negatives transferred from Torre Abbey in the 1980s.

To their surprise, the box turned out to be full of beautiful photographs which they had never seen before and they would like to share them with the Torbay Weekly readers.

Museum staff think the following photographs were taken in the 1930s but no proper research has been done yet.

The images will also appear on Torquay Museum social media so staff there would like to hear from anybody who knows more about them.
