Teenage boys left with 'life threatening' injuries in Torquay crash

Police investigating a road traffic collision in Torquay on Friday, May 20, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of a crash involving a blue Lexmoto 125cc motorbike and a grey Mercedes C220 AMG car on Westhill Road, at the junction with Chatto Road in Torquay, at around 11.55pm.

As a result of the collision, the rider and pillion passenger of the Lexmoto motorbike, both teenaged boys from Torquay, suffered life threatening and life changing injuries.

One casualty was taken to Torbay Hospital and the other to Bristol Royal Infirmary. The driver of the Mercedes was uninjured.

Local officers, as well as officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene. Once a forensic investigation had been conducted, the road was re-opened at around 12.45pm, on Saturday 21 May.
