Teams work round clock to dismantle old railway bridge

Work is progressing on a lengthy job to replace an old railway bridge in Torquay.

Network Rail have started to  dismantle the bridge at Torbay Road just off Torquay seafront.

The train company have had a full team of workers at the site day and night to make a start on removing the old bridge.

Part of the main road between Torquay and Paignton at Wheatridge Lane will be closed for a total of nine weeks.

Motorists have been thanked for using a diversion route over the Ring Road.

This has really helped residents who live on Wheatridge Lane and Livermead Hill.

If motorists are still using the local diversion around the seafront they have been asked to be aware of some residents who are having difficulty getting in and out of their driveways due to the extra traffic. Drivers are being asked to help by giving way if they can.
