Three promising young Torbay riders are being aimed at one of the world's biggest meetings, the European Junior Cycling Tour in Holland, in the first week of August.

Bayley Woodger, Grace Ward and Edward Fraile-Whaysall, all members of the Mid-Devon CC Race Team, will be among a thousand riders from 26 countries taking part in the week-long competition in Assen.

Woodger and Ward have featured in various disciplines across the South-West in recent seasons, while Fraile-Whaysall, 12, who moved from London to the Bay with his family 18 months ago, had confirmed his talent before the latest lockdown.

Easing of Covid restrictions should clear the way for a return to Youth Circuit Racing at Paignton's Torbay Velopark on April 17.

There are also hopes that the Mid-Devon's popular Good Friday Hilly Time Trial, over the Bovey and Teign Valleys, will be allowed to take place on April 2.
