The international break for Premier League and Championship clubs allows us to explore the local scene in our latest Torbay Weekly Predicta competition.
Plymouth Argyle ended a rotten recent run with their 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers last weekend and they have a very exciting young striker in Niall Ennis, finding impressive form after the move from Wolves.
The Grecians of Exeter need to find a run of results for their annual visit to the play-offs and home wins will be crucial.
It is another massive weekend for Torquay United and a long trip to Dagenham will hopefully yield three valuable points.
Elsewhere in the National League, we have three more games featuring sides in the hunt for promotion. Sutton are about to embark on a season-defining run of games but the Gulls also have to be wary of teams like Stockport, Hartlepool and Wrexham.
Can you beat our chief sportswriter Dave Thomas?
BLACKPOOL V PLYMOUTH ARGYLE – A draw 2-2
Blackpool have a real Play-Off shout and don’t lose many at home, but Argyle, with Ennis to lift them, need a result big time.
EXETER CITY v SALFORD CITY – A draw 1-1
Two inconsistent teams trying to gatecrash the L2 promotion party and desperate for a win – that pressure might affect both.
DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE v TORQUAY UNITED – Gulls win 2-1
Hot-and-cold Daggers won at Plainmoor, but United have so much at stake and are starting to rediscover some belief.
FC HALIFAX TOWN v SUTTON UNITED – A draw 2-2
Halifax, still with Play-Off hopes, are decent at home and Sutton are deep into run of testing away games – a point apiece.
STOCKPORT COUNTY v HARTLEPOOL UNITED – County win 3-0
A real promotion six-pointer, but County, with Paddy Madden on board, have the firepower for a ‘statement’ win.
WREXHAM v BROMLEY – A draw 1-1
Bromley are back in the Play Off picture and can make it a frustrating day for the improving but under-pressure Red Dragons.
