A week's break did little for South Devon's senior rugby sides, with defeats for Brixham, Paignton, Torquay Athletic and Teignmouth - their first loss of the season - and only Newton Abbot managing to win.

Tries by Matt Croscombe, Ed Goodman and Jason Capaldi, with conversions by Joel Ashworth, gave Brixham their points in a 48-19 defeat away to improving Exmouth in SW Premier Division.

Things don't get any easier for the Fishermen - they welcome second-placed and still unbeaten Hornets from Weston-super-Mare to Astley Park this Saturday.

Paignton trailed WCW leaders Wadebridge only 7-12 at half-time at Queen's Park, but the Camels pulled away to win 36-20.

Newton Abbot were too good for Bideford (33-8) at Rackerhayes but promotion-chasing Teignmouth suffered their first defeat - Tiverton pulled off an upset (25-22) at Bitton Park.

Torquay led 7-0 early on at Saltash in Cornwall and Devon Division, and they were still in front (10-5) at half-time, but they eventually went down 43-17.

Adam Dart and Lewis Harben scored tries, with further points from the boots of Morgan Penrice and James Wood.
