Plymouth Rowing Club hosted the final regatta of the West of England Amateur Rowing Association season over a 1,000 metre course on the river Plym marking end of the seven Regatta 2021 Championship series.

The championships are normally held over 10 regattas but due to Covid-19 restrictions, three – Bideford, Appledore and Falmouth – were cancelled.

Plymouth Regatta staged the full gambit of events in addition to the championship races and the regatta attracted 176 entries necessitating a programme of 56 races staged over five hours.

Conditions on the Plym were manageable despite the strong easterly wind, although some of the junior single sculls events at the end of the programme were reduced to 500 metres because of some chop on the water.

Top local club of the day was Dart Totnes with nine wins but both Paignton and Dartmouth recorded some good results.
