Two very special ladies laid a very special wreath at the recent Remembrance Service in Torquay.
Geeta Lloyd, president of the Wellswood Women's Institute, and Peggy Harding, 99, a member since 1984, laid a wreath at the War Memorial in Torquay, on behalf of the branch.
Peggy served in the Women's Royal Naval Service from 1943 to 1946.
She was a member of the Y Service intercepting German forces' radio traffic in plain language, code and in Morse.
These messages were passed to Bletchley Park, then only known as Station X. She then moved to the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force in England, France and Germany working largely with the American Intelligence Service (G-2).
She finished her service as an interpreter with the British military government in Hanover. For this service she was awarded the Bletchley Park medal and the Legion of Honour.
