Eight South Devon Athletic Club runners tackled the Muddy Duck 10K – although the run proved to be dusty rather than muddy due to the heat and sunshine.
The race, hosted by Plymstock Road Runners in Plymouth, saw Stuart Batten first of the South Devon club runners home in 8th place in a field of 123, with a time of 43:05 and finishing second in his age category. He was closely followed home by Kevin Ashworth (11th in 44:46 and first in his age category).
Colin Peters (13th in 45:22 and second in age category), Vince Langdon (22nd in 48:23), Jon Hiscoke (26thin 49:29), Dani Waters (37th in 52:57 and first in age category and third overall female), Laura Ashworth (46th in 56:50 and 3rd in age category) and Michelle Coles (92nd in 1:08:26) also out in some amazing performances for the local club.
The SDAC Juniors also managed to successfully retain the Pearson Cup which they won in 2019 (no 2020 or 2021 competitions were held due to Covid).
There were ‘awesome’ performances by all the club under 10s, 11s and 13s who took part in a team of 30 juniors.
Last but least, George Holman represented SDAC in Wales and managed to complete the Snowdonia Ultra Marathon in 09:58:20 with just over 7,000 of elevation gain throughout the course.
