Sherwoods help keep Rowcroft team on the road

Torbay Weekly

The well-known Torbay building services and engineers company is sponsoring Rowcroft Hospice’s Hospice at Home car. This car is used by the team to support patients in their own homes in the last two weeks of life.

Each year, the Home team supports around 550 patients in their own homes. Dedicated nurses and healthcare assistants help to alleviate pain, make patients comfortable and offer much-needed advice and support for loved ones.

Rowcroft supports patients from Dawlish to Dartmouth and across to the moors and the Hospice at Home team travels around 67,000 miles a year. Sherwoods’ sponsorship of the car will enable the team to reach patients across the region.

Angelina Blair, staff nurse in the Rowcroft Hospice at Home team, said: “We are really grateful to Sherwoods for sponsoring our car. I believe the biggest difference our work makes to a patient and family is giving them the confidence to care for their loved one at home – supporting patients who worry deeply about being a burden to their families but who desperately do not want to be separated from them when they only have a limited time left. We help create the best and most peaceful memories for the loved ones who are left behind. The support of local companies enables us to make that difference.”

Managing director Kevin Sherwood said: “Sherwoods is thrilled to support Rowcroft by sponsoring their Hospice at Home car. We know well what a difference the Hospice at Home team make to patients across South Devon and it is a pleasure to help the team get to the patients and families that need their help.”

Rowcroft is aiming to increase the capacity of the Hospice at Home team enabling them to support more patients in their own homes. If you would like to find out more or get involved in fundraising for this expansion, please visit or call 01803 210835.
