Former Plainmoor stalwart Robbie Herrera is back at Torquay United as the Gulls’ new Head of Youth, succeeding the recently departed Chris Todd.
After starting his playing career at his hometown club, Herrera played for Queen’s Park Rangers and Fulham before returning to United and later working as assistant manager, caretaker and youth coach.
Herrera, 52, has filled a number of coaching and management roles in the South-West, most recently in charge of Southern League Dorchester Town until last October, but he says: ” “It’s great to be back.
“This is a club that I’ve grown up with as a player, in management and on the staff.
“It’s a role that I thought I would be well suited to. I have a strong background in youth football.”
Todd left last month to become assistant manager to ex-Plainmoor favourite Chris Hargreaves at Yeovil Town.
