Torbay Weekly

Wales & West Utilities has completed its work to upgrade gas pipes in Brixham.

The work, in the Higher Furzeham Road area, began in October and was essential to keep the gas flowing safely to heat and power local homes and businesses.

It involved upgrading over 1.5km of gas pipes and was originally due to finish in March. However, bar a small section of additional work, which will be completed at a later date, hardworking engineers have completed the essential work ahead of schedule.

Jake Sami fromm Wales & West Utilities said: “We’re happy to have finished this upgrade work and want to thank everyone in the area for bearing with us while we completed this essential work to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.”
