One great win and two narrow defeats for Petroc

Torbay Weekly

In another thrilling week of sport for Petroc College, the netball team achieved a superb victory at Strode College but there were agonising defeats for the basketball and football teams.

After a slow start in the netball, Petroc turned on the style in the second half to win 24-44, with a special mention to Hope Unstead and Riah Anns, who both excelled on the day. Petroc now have a two-point lead at the top with four games in hand over their closest rivals.

Petroc went down to an incredible 73-74 defeat at home to Yeovil College in a superb game of basketball and a game that neither side really deserved to lose.

The men’s football team produced a much-improved performance before going down to a 2-1 loss to visiting Truro and Penwith College, who had previously inflicted heavy defeats on Petroc in the League and Cup this season. Achie Holloway scored the Petroc goal.
