Torquay solicitors win Law Firm of Year award

A Torquay law firm has scooped the Law Firm of the Year accolade at a prestigious annual awards.

Wollens were shortlisted across seven categories and awarded winner of the Law firm of the year (large law firm £3m+ turnover) for 2020 in the Devon and Somerset Law Society Awards for 2020. 

Wollens chief executive Chris Hart said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have won such a great award!

The individuals who made it to the shortlist were Kit Hounsell, support team member; Judith Manser, chartered legal executive; Rachel Carter, Legal Aid lawyer; Rebecca Procter, leader; Christopher Linton, solicitor, and the rebrand team.

The presentation of the Devon and Somerset Law Society Legal Awards for 2020 took place in a digital ceremony after several attempts to hold the dinner originally planned for April 2020 were postponed for Covid reasons.

Hosted by the BBC’s David Fitzgerald, the awards celebrate and raise the profile of the solicitors' profession.

Entries, submitted in 2019/2020 have been rigorously judged by an expert panel.

The online ceremony was viewed by firms and individuals across the region who celebrated individual and team success.

A celebratory dinner is planned for next spring when it is hoped that professionals can celebrate together.
