Court appearance for Captain Hook

An out of the Christmas box for this Yuletide

Court appearance for Captain Hook

Captain Hook and Mr Smee will be at the helm of the Grotto, during the festivities at Cockington Court this year

Cockington Court and Torbay Communities are moving away from their unusual Christmas grotto offering of last year to something even more out of the Christmas box for this Yuletide.

Last Christmas it was a Vader and Friends Grotto with the Light Saber Academy, Doctor Who props and space-themed cosplay.

This year Torbay Communities say they are working with the Court which will be pretty darn awesome when unveiled on December 8.

This year they have Captain Hook and Mr Smee running the grotto, with The Mapmaker and The Sam O’Shanty Puppet Show making up one fabulous experience.

There will also be a Christmas artisan fair taking place, with the Meatball Shack, The Velvet Buccaneers Bar and Cask performing on the day.

A Disney-themed Lego competition and fancy dress/cosplay competition, hosted by some of Hook's villainous comrades, are also being organised with the likes of Hades, Ursula the Sea Witch and Maleficent running the show.

The judges will decide who the winners of the competitions are after the event and prizewinners will receive a special visit from Santa and some surprise characters before Christmas as they deliver their prizes. The fancy dress competition is Disney-themed, which also covers Marvel and of course Star Wars
