A very popular half marathon around the beautiful historical and picturesque city of Bath was a great success for Torbay Triathlon Club.
On a fast and flat course, starting on Great Pulteney Street and finishing at Royal Avenue, the traffic-free road race showcases the city centre, including the River Avon and Upper/Lower Bristol Road.
SL Beth Neal has trained hard for this event, and it certainly paid off, with Beth smashing her PB to finish in a swift time of 1hr 37mins 05secs (1656th) out of around 12,000 runners.
The Raging waters 10K is a beautiful and fast course in sunny Sydney Australia, which heads out from Raging Waters towards Prospect Reservoir. Runners turn back just before the halfway mark and finish inside Raging Waters water park.
V60 Wendy Urban was there on holiday and thought why not represent Torbay Tri Club overseas. Wendy had a great day, finishing in 48mins 09secs (47th), plus 1st V60 out of 392 runners.
The Donut Duathlon is an annual event put on so well by Sportiva Events at Torbay Leisure Centre. The course includes Torbay Velopark and Clennon Valley Fields.
The sprint event consists of a 5K run / 19.5k bike/ 2.5k, the super sprint comprises a 2.5k run / 9k bike/ 1.25 run. Tri club members were out in force and it was a very successful day.
First back in the longer sprint event was SM Ben Flower in 1hr 07mins 36secs (8th), 3rd senior man, next was in-form V40 Debbie Burman 1hr 14mins 12secs (17th), plus 1st V40, V40 Cassandra Pressling finished strong in 1hr 24mins 20secs (27th), V70 Andrew Kilner continues to impress, finishing in 1hr 31mins 08secs (30th), 1st V70 out of just under 50.
In the super sprint event, it was the fast-improving SL Samara Taylor making the podium, finishing 2nd overall in 35mins 54secs, V60 Naoko McKinnon was next in 49mins 03secs (7th), 1st V60 out of 14.
