Torquay United have paid an undisclosed fee to buy Jordan Young, one of the stars of Yeovil
Town’s 2023-2024 National League South title campaign, from their Westcountry rivals.
Wiltshire-born Young, who scored 16 goals in 47 appearances for the Glovers last season, was
named in the NLS Team Of The Year and he’s played another 14 games for Town in the NL Premier
this term.
Amid rumours of Torquay’s interest in him, Young was left out of Yeovil’s 3-1 home win over
Maidenhead United at the weekend, manager Mark Cooper confirming that he’d received an offer a
player who signed an extended contract at Huish Park midway through last season.
Gulls boss Paul Wotton said: “Jordan is a player who brings creativity, pace and quality to the
squad.”
Torquay fans saw those qualities when Young impressed against them last season.
He began his career at Swindon Town and has since had spells at Coventry City, Gloucester City,
Chippenham Town and Yeovil.
On his move to Plainmoor, he was quoted as saying: "I just love football."
