Striker set to depart Torquay United
Torquay United striker Aaron Jarvis has penned a ‘farewell message’ to the Yellow Army, confirming his departure after two seasons at Plainmoor.
Jarvis wrote on his social media account: “Been an absolute pleasure playing for this club over the past two seasons, I’ve met some friends for life and lived in a beautiful part of the country, a place my family called home.
“I loved playing in front of our fans each week and I can’t thank you enough for the support you gave me. I will never forget it, will always keep my eye out for Torquay’s results and I wish this club all the best in getting back to where it belongs.”
Ever since the National League South has been rife that Jarvis may be a target for Yeovil Town, who were crowned champions in April.
Wherever the powerful forward ends up next, the challenge for new United manager Paul Wotton is to fill that void with new striking options. At his best, Jarvis was a tremendous target-man for United and the Gulls will want a replacement forward capable of leading the line and bullying defenders in an uncompromising league.
