Torbay AAC youngsters triumphant in Devon athletics championships
Sunday saw the Devon County track and field champs take place at the Exeter Arena and with the best weather of the season so far, the small contingent of Torbay Athletic club juniors performed superbly well, delivering some scintillating performances in the searing sunshine.
Top performer for the club was Keeley Little, who dominated the U17 sprints. She won the 100m in a new Personal Best time of 12.11 secs, setting a new club record in the process.
Keeley was in equally dominant form in winning the 200m in 25.07 sec and 300m 40.55 sec, setting new Championship Best Performances in both. Keeley is currently ranked in the UK top 10 for all three sprints.
Sister Annalise Little, competing as an U13 was also in good form, completing the double in winning the 100m 14.19 sec and 200m 29.17 sec, setting new PBs in both sprints. She also placed 2nd in the 800m in 2:41.22.
At U15 level, Frankie Skelly performed well, recording PBs in the 100m 5th 13.26 sec and 200m 5th 27.52 sec. At U20 level, James Larkin ran strongly to take the 200m title in 23.44 sec, running into a slight headwind. Jasmine Hart won the U.20 triple jump with a best jump of 9.49m.
In the middle distance events, Leon Snell ran a PB to place 7th in the U15 1500m with 4:47.37, Ella Richards placed 2nd in the U15 1500m with 4:57.01, while Paige Quinn took the U17 3000m title.
