Fancy a weekend crushing grapes?

South Devon based Sandridge Barton (the home of Sharpham Wine) and the Dartington Trust is working in collaboration to offer a weekend wine course from Friday July 2 to Sunday July 4.

The ’The Crush Course’ is a residential course where attendees will develop a deeper appreciation of, and enjoyment of wine, a clearer practical understanding of the processes involved in wine production, and potentially a first step towards a career in the wine industry.

Associate Director of wine at the Dartington Trust, Justin Howard-Sneyd, said: “Here at Dartington we have always believed that you learn best by using your ‘head, heart and hands’. Expect to get your hands dirty by playing around with grapes and yeast, and to fool with the bubbles trapped in a bottle of fizz."

Sharpham Wine’s head winemaker, Duncan Schwab, said: “We look forward to sharing our knowledge about what goes on in the vineyard and winery from grape to bottle."
