Victoria Fernott can’t wait to get back to work after Lockdown – and hopefully with an award to her name.

She has been a nail technician for 20 years, starting with manicures, pedicures, acrylics and gel polish.

She dipped in and out of the industry over the years but 12 months ago decided to ‘take the plunge’ and go full time with her Jazzy Nails and Beauty business after encouragement from family and friends, renting a space in a new beauty salon, Signature Touch, in Plainmoor, Torquay.
Covid struck and she says: “I thought my dreams would be crushed." But she revealed: "Throughout the first lockdown I made most of the time studying nail art so I would stand out from the crowd when we were finally allowed to open.”

Victoria decided to enter the UK Hair and Beauty awards category for Best Gel Nails and has made it through to the national finals after thousands of technicians had applied.

She says: “I think all my hard work has paid off.”

Now it’s fingers and nails crossed for the awards ceremony on March 31.
