Members of Marldon Bowls Club have raised £2,000 for Torbay Hospital.

The fundraising continued despite pandemic lockdowns and reduced capacity for bowling at time due to Covid regulations.

Various fundraising activities and events at the club - and at Marldon Apple Pie Fair - during the last two years and at the club annual meeting last week, presidents June and John Gibbons presented a cheque for £2,000 to the Ricky Grant Day Unit at Torbay Hospital.

The cheque was accepted on behalf of the hospital by Terry Grant.

Terry said the day unit was fundraising for two new Paxman Scalp Cooling Machines, to replace one which has already been condemned and the second one due to be condemned, at a cost of £28,000.
