‘Inspiring’ Torquay gym apprentices mix cakes and ‘muscle hill’ to raise money for charity
Apprentices at a Torquay gym mixed tyre flips with cakes to raise more than £700 for the National Domestic Abuse Helpline.
The apprentice fitness instructors and manager Hannah Bryant from Winners 2000 Fitness Ltd were aware that domestic abuse had increased considerably throughout lockdown and wanted to do something to help raise awareness.
The event consisted of the best times for challenges which included rowing, tyre flips and being the fastest up the legendary ‘Muscle Hill’ which is built into the cliff at the back of the gym.
Members also baked and sold cakes. The total amount raised was £720.
Manager Hannah said: “Our Mission statement is to ‘educate’, ‘inspire’ and ‘drive positive change’ and part of that is to ‘make a difference in the community’ “so it’s great to see our trainers contributing towards these very worthy causes.”
